Okauchee Fishing Club Information Sheet
History
The Okauchee Fishing Club was founded in 1967 as a multi-species Wisconsin fishing club. For the past 56 years the club has been teaching people about the great sport of fishing. The club is committed to helping people become better fisherman through meetings, outings, and other educational opportunities.
Meetings
Our club meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the VFW 17980 New Berlin WI. Guest are always welcome and can attend a meeting for only $5.00. The meetings are educational and are intended to help people at all different skill levels become better fisherman. The meetings consist of two major segments, Fish Talk and a presentation. During Fish Talk all meeting attendees are given an opportunity to share their recent fishing experiences. For our presentations we get the best fishing guides and tournament fishermen from around the state to speak on a variety of fishing related topics. We have had some of the best known fishermen in our state come to speak at our club such as, Larry Smith, Dale Stroschein, Eric Haataja,, and many more.
Our typical meeting agenda is as follows:
General club business
Fish Talk
Club raffle
Break
Educational presentation
Outings and Events
Club members can attend any of the many club organized outings. The club fishes all over the state of Wisconsin and has exciting weekend, one day, and weekday outings. There is typically a fishing outing each month. In addition to our great fishing outings, the club has a first class awards banquet each year and a fun family picnic. The club also supports the community by participating in two kids fishing clinics each year as well as maintaining the Okauchee Lake public launch, making it one of the few free launches in Waukesha County.
